Running Brewing

Brewed by runners, for runners. Running Brewing is a running-themed homebrew (and sometimes collaboratively commercial) project. What’s more enjoyable than getting a run in with friends, then having a tasty pint? Expect more here in the future. In the meantime, check Running Brewing out on: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, (and now Untappd) or email us for more information.

Here are some past and present offerings:

Beer Miler Pale Ale square

Beer Miler Pale Ale

Brewed as a collaboration with Trophy Brewing Co. for Brewgaloo, the Beer Miler Pale Ale is a single Citra hop Pale Ale that would be great for competing in the popular after hours pastime for many runners, or for quenching your thirst after an easy 10, or a hard track session.

Prefon Saison

Brewed with Steve Prefontaine’s famed canned peach diet in mind. This easy drinking SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) Saison is made for an afternoon in the sun, after an easy 10. Once the fermentation is complete, this beer is aged on fresh (not canned) peaches for another 10 days to truly bring out the flavor in this 4% very sessionable Saison.

Hasty Race Day Ice Cream Stout

A little research shows Amy Hastings Cragg’s favorite indulgence is a beer float, and that her beer style of choice is the Chocolate Stout. Why not combine the two? The Hasty Race Day Ice Cream Stout is a 5.5% Stout aged on Escazu Cacao Nibs and Vanilla Beans. A perfect reward to a race well run!

Holly Raleigh Christmas Ale

Spend all fall training and looking to have some fun at the holiday parties before you start planning for Boston? The Holly Raleigh Christmas Ale will keep you and your training partners jolly. This 7% Brown Ale, aged on Orange Peel, Vanilla Beans, Cinnamon Sticks and Coriander, will keep you warm without having to stand by the fire.

Gose the Distance

Back in 2013, it was hard to find a good Gose in Raleigh. So why not just make one? This heavier on the salt and coriander, and lighter on the sour, easy drinking 4% thirst quencher was brewed in the Summer and built for the necessary sodium replacement needed after a sticky July run in the South.
